The Renogy REGO 30A is an MPPT solar charge controller for 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V battery systems. Its 150V PV input lets you wire panels in series, which means thinner cable, lower losses and longer runs from the roof to the battery. Renogy rates it at over 99% tracking efficiency and over 97% conversion efficiency, and it holds full output at 113°F and 3,000 meters of altitude.

It has 13 built-in protections including low-temperature charging protection, a real-time clock that logs a full year of data, and built-in Bluetooth, RS-485, Renogy CAN and RV-C for monitoring. The IP43 housing uses IP67-rated Amphenol solar connectors.

Real-world numbers: on a 12V system it accepts up to 440W of solar. A 400W array in 5 peak sun hours delivers roughly 1,500Wh per day (rating × 5 hours × 0.75 for real-world losses). On 24V, 36V or 48V systems it accepts up to 880W, 1,314W and 1,700W.

Note: the controller has no built-in fuse. Renogy recommends a 30A ANL fuse between the controller and the battery.

Best for: RV roof arrays wired in series • REGO system builds • 24V and 48V off-grid systems • Long cable runs from panels to battery
