The Comvolt 4200 is a native 12V portable power station sized for full-time van life. Its 12.8V, 328Ah LiFePO4 battery feeds your 12V loads directly through a 120A Anderson port, which is what makes it a strong match for high-draw 12V air conditioners, compressor fridges and diesel heaters. A 1800W pure sine wave inverter handles your 120V laptop chargers, tools and kitchen gear.

Real-world numbers: rated 4200Wh, about 3,570Wh usable (rated Wh × 0.85). A 12V compressor fridge averaging 50W runs about 71 hours. A 12V air conditioner drawing 500W runs about 7 hours, enough for most of a warm night. Solar input tops out at 400W through the XT60 port (20 to 45V, MPPT). Panels deliver roughly 70 to 80% of their rating in full sun, so a 400W array produces about 280 to 320W, which means roughly 13 to 15 hours of good sun (about two days) to refill from empty. Plan on solar as a daily top-up rather than a one-day refill.

The included 500W wall charger refills it in about 8.5 to 9 hours, and a second charger on the second XT90 port roughly halves that. The included 30A DC-DC alternator charger adds roughly 400W while you drive, about 10 to 11 hours of driving from empty. It also runs a built-in UPS, can jump start your vehicle, heats itself for charging in the cold, and expands with Comvolt Expansion Batteries.

In the box:

  • Comvolt 4200 portable power station
  • 500W wall charger
  • 30A DC-DC charger with ACC control switch
  • 8 ft alternator charging input cable and alternator charging output cable
  • Anderson splitter
  • MC4-to-XT60 solar cable
  • User manual

Best for: Full-time van life • 12V air conditioners and compressor fridges • Truck campers and overland rigs • Permanent mounted 12V systems
