Comvolt Expansion Batteries add 12V LiFePO4 capacity to a Comvolt 2200, 4200 or 6000 Pro. Each pack connects in parallel through the station's rear Anderson port, and an RJ45 (Ethernet) link lets the station track the pack's charge and health on its own screen and in the Comvolt app. Like the stations, the packs heat themselves so they can charge in cold weather.

Real-world numbers: the 320Ah pack is rated 4096Wh, about 3,482Wh usable (rated Wh × 0.85). The 470Ah pack is rated 6016Wh, about 5,114Wh usable. Paired with a Comvolt 4200, the 320Ah pack takes you to about 7,050Wh usable, enough to run a 500W 12V air conditioner for roughly 14 hours. Remember that solar input stays at the station's limit (400W on the 2200 and 4200, 800W on the 6000 Pro), so more battery means longer to refill from the sun.

Options:

  • 12V 320Ah, 4096Wh, aluminum shell
  • 12V 470Ah, 6016Wh

Best for: Adding run time to a Comvolt station • 12V air conditioning through the night • Multi-day boondocking • Full-time van and RV builds
